Position Details:

New Hope Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) is seeking a Director of Worship Arts to lead and inspire our congregation through music and creative worship. This part-time position blends musical excellence, spiritual leadership, and a heart for building community.

About the Role:

As Director of Worship Arts, you will work closely with the pastor, staff, and worship leaders to plan and lead meaningful, Christ-centered worship experiences. You’ll guide and coordinate a variety of ensembles — from praise band to chancel choir to children’s choir — and incorporate diverse musical styles and creative elements that help proclaim the Gospel and support our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead worship music (keyboard and/or vocal direction), aligning selections with Scripture and the sermon theme.
• Recruit, equip, and direct musicians and singers of all ages and abilities.
• Prepare media presentations (currently using MediaShout) and oversee sanctuary sound/video equipment.
• Coordinate music and worship elements for special services (Advent, Christmas, Easter, etc.) and events (weddings, funerals).
• Maintain the music library, licenses, and worship arts budget.
• Foster a spirit of joy, excellence, and fellowship within the music ministry and congregation.
What We’re Looking For
• A committed follower of Jesus Christ, aligned with the mission and convictions of New Hope Presbyterian Church (PCUSA).
• Skilled musician (keyboard, vocal direction) with worship leadership experience.
• Strong organizational, administrative, and volunteer coordination skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Experience teaching music to all ages.
• Commitment to confidentiality and child protection; background check required.
