Position Details:

A traditional church setting can be intimidating to many, especially to those new in their walk with Christ. The pastor will be expected to spend time in the community (as will the rest of the congregation) building relationships that will encourage a comfort with being in a church setting such as this. In building these relationships, a trust or bond will be created and open conversation regarding the life-changing joy of living as brothers and sisters in Christ can happen.

The candidate will also be tasked with communion, baptisms, funerals, weddings, and pre-marital counseling, visiting shut-ins and other members and all other duties as agreed upon between the Session and the pastor. A basic accounting of how their time is spent will be requested of the pastor as well to ensure that we are compensating appropriately.

A pastor that is enthusiastic about collaborating with church members as well as other churches, the university and other local organizations will be necessary. Experience in the use of social media in furthering the growth of a church is a must, in this day and age. The candidate should possess the ability to work with and feel appreciation for the team, as well as have the initiative to be an industrious self-starter. They should have the heart of a servant, with exemplary faith, be affable, outgoing, youthful in spirit, open-minded and energetic, with the ability to inspire and encourage those around them. The candidate should be educated biblically and doctrinally and have training in Christian leadership.
